Gambito Golf Club Calatayud will host this important women’s professional tournament from 14 to 16 October
Gambito Golf Club Calatayud, which has hosted major professional tournaments in recent years, will stage the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open from 14 to 16 October. This women’s competition forms part of the LET Access Series development circuit.
LETAS comprises a distinguished series of women’s professional golf tournaments taking place from April to November 2026 in cities across Europe. It represents the second tier of women’s professional golf on the continent and provides a pathway to the Ladies European Tour.
For the fifth consecutive year, Gambito Golf Club Calatayud will host the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open, a highly significant event in international women’s professional golf. This new edition stands out not only for its sporting quality but also for its role in promoting the sporting and tourism attractions of Calatayud and the province of Zaragoza.
The Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open will feature 108 professional players from a wide range of countries. More than 70 players are currently on the waiting list, hoping to secure a place in the tournament.
Entry, however, follows the strict Order of Merit of the European LET Access Series circuit. The leading Spanish players taking part include golfers with impressive sporting records, such as María Parra, Marina Escobar, Clara Moyano, Ana Pina and María Herráez…
Hosting this important tournament allows Gambito Golf Club Calatayud to continue working towards its goal of establishing Calatayud and the province of Zaragoza as leading examples of sporting excellence. To achieve this, it provides a first-class course and facilities.
Special mention should be made of the tournament taking place on Saturday 17 October, the American Express LETAS Experience, where amateur golfers will be able to enjoy the same course and care as the professional players during the competition.
The event also has the backing and collaboration of the departments of Presidency, Justice, Culture and Sport and of Environment and Tourism of the Government of Aragon, and Calatayud City Council, which are among the tournament’s main official sponsors. These joint efforts aim to promote sports tourism in the region and showcase the cultural, historical and natural riches of the city and its surroundings.
The tournament also benefits from the valuable support of sponsoring companies that make the event possible, including Iberdrola, DF Grupo, Reale Seguros, JAB, Dos Maderas, Malpastor, Veolia, American Express, Mahou, Cubical, Schweppes, Volvo, Pepsi, Solán de Cabras and Suministros Espiago, as well as the Let Access Series, the Aragonese Golf Federation and the Royal Spanish Golf Federation.
