The competition will be held at Gambito Golf Club Catalayud from 16 to 18 October.
The sixteen Spanish golfers participating in the Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open, a tournament that forms part of the LET Access Series, held from 16 to 18 October at the Gambito Golf Club Calatayud course, have joined forces to end the solid English dominance in this competition, now in its fourth edition.
The winners of the three tournaments played so far are from England: Amy Taylor was the best in 2022; Hanna Screen finished first in 2023; and Ellie Gower won in 2024.
Despite the undeniable quality of the Spanish players, the goal is always difficult, as Calatayud hosts the last event on the LETAS calendar and therefore represents the last opportunity to earn points in the ranking for this circuit, which is a precursor to the Ladies European Tour.
That is why Gambito Golf Club Calatayud attracts the best professional players on this international circuit, who are aiming not only to win, but also to secure one of the top seven positions in the rankings, which will give them direct access to the higher circuit, the LET, in 2026.
Among the most outstanding Spanish players is Basque Amaia Latorre, winner this year of a LETAS tournament, the Ahlsell Trophy held in Sweden in early August, a success that goes hand in hand with other good results, no less than four Top 10 finishes throughout the season, highlighting her status as a player to watch closely.
Also of interest is the participation of players with extensive international experience, such as Harang Lee from Cantabria, Clara Moyano from Madrid and María Parra from Cadiz, all of whom have played in LET tournaments.
Promising golfers such as Marina Escobar from Almería, María Herráez from Madrid, Marta Pérez from Valencia and Marta Pérez from León also form an interesting group of Spanish players who are likely to achieve good final results.
Three days of professional golf and an experience for all audiences
The tournament, which will be held between 16 and 18 October, with a ProAm taking place on 15 October, brings together more than a hundred players from around twenty countries.
In addition to the aforementioned Pro-Am, which will allow amateur players to share the day with professional players, the event will include numerous parallel activities at the Bilbilitano club.
As a grand finale, we would like to highlight the Gambito Experience, which will once again focus on socialising and gastronomy, with activities open to members, visitors and guests, consolidating the event as a social occasion beyond the sporting arena.
Essential support for the development of the tournament
The Iberdrola Calatayud Ladies Open has established itself as a key event on the LET Access Series calendar, not only because of the high standard of its organisation, but also because of the quality of the course and the hospitality of the city of Calatayud.
The tournament is sponsored mainly by Iberdrola, with the collaboration of the Government of Aragon, Calatayud City Council, the Aragon Golf Federation, Gambito Golf Club Calatayud and Galera Group, the event promoter. These joint efforts seek to promote sports tourism in the region and raise awareness of the cultural, historical and natural wealth of the city and its surroundings.
The tournament also enjoys the valuable support of sponsoring companies that make this event possible, including DF Grupo, Reale Seguros, Galpe, JAB, Bonduelle, Viñas del Vero, Dos Maderas, Mahou, Cubical, Schweppes, Volvo, Pepsi, Solán de Cabras and Suministros Espiago, as well as the Let Access Series and the Royal Spanish Golf Federation.
